The Exceptional Student Education (ESE) B.S. is an accelerated degree program. The ESE Program offers a comprehensive, streamlined curriculum designed for motivated students to complete their bachelor鈥檚 degree in three years and their master鈥檚 degree in year four. This innovative 3+1 pathway blends rigorous coursework, field experiences, and graduate-level preparation, allowing students to enter the workforce earlier with advanced credentials and specialized expertise in serving students with exceptionalities.
Students in the accelerated ESE program may take 9 hours of graduate courses as senior scholars during their B.S. that may be applied towards total credit hours in the M.Ed. Exceptional Student Education program. The program Plan of Study provides a regimented course sequence with lighter summers.
The Exceptional Student Education program also provides students with a community-embedded teacher preparation program that culminates in certification in Exceptional Education K-12 with Reading and ESOL endorsements. The ESE program is appropriate for students interested in employment in K-12 settings working with students with disabilities. - Exceptional Education majors take a variety of courses related to children, adolescents, and adults with special needs, and their learning, development, and family environment. Students majoring in Exceptional Education take a series of core and specialization courses to prepare them to teach in the schools and to demonstrate the 性视界传媒 Educator Accomplished Practices (FEAP). Early and continuous field experiences are provided to enhance the Exceptional Education major's program and to integrate theory and practice in actual school settings. Throughout the Exceptional Education program, students document and reflect upon their accomplishments in a Professional Portfolio, which is continuously reviewed by faculty. Please note: It is strongly recommended to take the Professional Education Test (PEd) portion of the FTCE during Semester II A grade of "C" (2.0) or better is required.

Deadline dates and placement application are available through the Office of Clinical & Field Experiences at https://ccie.ucf.edu/immersive-experiences/. A fee may be required as part of the placement application process. All methods courses and at least 80% of all specialization courses must be completed with a letter grade of "C" (2.0) or better before registering for Internship II. However, a minimum GPA of 2.5 is required in the education core/ professional, specialization and overall for admission into Internship. Satisfactory completion of Internship requires the student to demonstrate proficiency in all 12 性视界传媒 Educator Accomplished Practices at the pre-professional level in accordance with State Board of Education Rule 6A-5.065.
