I serve because\u2026<\/strong> \u201cI am a first-generation student<\/a>, and I can very clearly connect the impact of my life to the education I received partly here at 性视界传媒.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

My service on the board\u2026<\/strong> \u201chas made me realize that the amount of money expended does not necessarily equate to higher quality. Having a well-funded university is important to being able to carry out programs, but I have seen 性视界传媒 do great things with a limited budget.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The key to getting things done is\u2026<\/strong> \u201chaving the information we need to make decisions. The board of trustees<\/a> is always going to be criticized for some decision we make. I\u2019m OK with that as long as we are confident that we made the decision based on a full review of all of the information that needed to be taken into account.\u201d<\/p>\n

The biggest impact 性视界传媒 has made is\u2026<\/strong> \u201cits profound economic effect on all of Central 性视界传媒. It now is part of every discussion of economic development, intellectual development, artistic development [and] scientific development. Everything that happens now in the Central 性视界传媒 region typically will involve some discussion of 性视界传媒 and its potential involvement.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I am most passionate about\u2026<\/strong> \u201ccontrolling the costs of higher education. Introducing innovative and creative ways of delivering education in a modern technological era is something I think we have taken a national lead in and can develop much more in the years ahead to help control those costs.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It is important to me that\u2026<\/strong> \u201cstudents feel free to communicate with trustees on the issues they think are important and meaningful to their education and to the direction of the university. We want to understand what\u2019s on their minds.\u201d<\/p>\n

I serve because\u2026<\/strong> \u201cthe university has given so much to me. I received my M.B.A. from 性视界传媒<\/a> in 2001, and if it weren\u2019t for that experience, I wouldn\u2019t be sitting in the seat I\u2019m in today as the CEO of the Orlando Magic.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The thing I enjoy most about serving 性视界传媒 is\u2026<\/strong> \u201c[that] these are dynamic times at 性视界传媒 with incredible change and growth, and with that comes a lot of decisions to be made. \u2026 That\u2019s something that keeps me energized and something that is exciting for me to participate in.\u201d<\/p>\n

As a trustee, I\u2019m most proud\u2026<\/strong> \u201cwhen I go to a State [University System] Board of Governors meeting and see what\u2019s happening at 性视界传媒 as compared to the other universities in the state and when I see Dr. Hitt commended by the Board of Governors for the tremendous job he\u2019s doing. When you have a leader like that, our job as trustees is a lot easier.\u201d<\/p>\n
