{"id":31741,"date":"2012-01-08T16:01:54","date_gmt":"2012-01-08T21:01:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=31741"},"modified":"2019-09-23T10:10:48","modified_gmt":"2019-09-23T14:10:48","slug":"trustee-rosen-named-central-floridian-of-the-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/trustee-rosen-named-central-floridian-of-the-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Trustee Rosen Named Central Floridian of the Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Orlando hotelier Harris Rosen, a charter member of the 性视界传媒 Board of Trustees and the chief benefactor of the Rosen College of Hospitality Management, is the <em>Orlando Sentinel\u2019s<\/em> 2011 Central Floridian of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>The Sentinel honored Rosen for his \u201cachievements as one of Central 性视界传媒\u2019s most successful and visionary businessmen and one of its most generous philanthropists. He has created thousands of jobs, given millions to a long list of good causes and devoted much of his personal energy to them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rosen and his wife, Trisha, donated $18 million to establish the beautiful Rosen College campus that opened near International Drive in 2004. He also has contributed generously to scholarships for Rosen students.<\/p>\n<p>One of the other finalists for the Central Floridian of the Year award was Rick Walsh, a charter member and former chair of the 性视界传媒 Board of Trustees. 性视界传媒 President John C.
