{"id":134746,"date":"2023-04-13T10:50:08","date_gmt":"2023-04-13T14:50:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=134746"},"modified":"2025-06-25T17:06:59","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T21:06:59","slug":"ucfs-limbitless-solutions-receives-honors-from-florida-governor-and-first-lady","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/ucfs-limbitless-solutions-receives-honors-from-florida-governor-and-first-lady\/","title":{"rendered":"性视界传媒\u2019s Limbitless Solutions Receives Honors from 性视界传媒 Governor and First Lady"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Limbitless Solutions president and co-founder <strong>Albert Manero \u201912 \u201914MS \u201916PhD<\/strong> was recently honored by 性视界传媒 Governor Ron DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis during the first annual 性视界传媒 Heroes reception.<\/p>\n<p>The event welcomed heroes from across 性视界传媒 to the Governor\u2019s Mansion in Tallahassee to honor them for exhibiting courage, perseverance, and self-sacrifice.<\/p>\n<p>This included police officers, first responders, and veterans who had risked health and safety to serve and protect their communities and country, as well as members of the community who have dedicated themselves to helping others overcome adversity through nonprofit efforts, adoption and foster care, careers in education, and advocacy.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 2014, Limbitless Solutions is a nonprofit and direct support organization at 性视界传媒 dedicated to increasing accessibility and empowering children and adults in the limb difference community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were honored to be recognized at the event and to represent our program and the university,\u201d Manero says. \u201cWe were surrounded by an incredible group of heroes, and it was an honor to hear how they are making our communities stronger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The stories of all heroes in attendance were displayed throughout the Governor\u2019s Mansion as a tribute to their civic service and self-sacrifice. Manero was recognized for the work <a href=\"https:\/\/limbitless-solutions.org\/\">Limbitless Solutions<\/a> does to deliver 3D-printed bionic arms to children around the U.S. at no cost to their families. Most recently, Limbitless Solutions announced it\u2019s launching a new clinical trial in partnership with Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Children\u2019s Hospital to provide more bionic arms for children locally and nationally.<\/p>\n<p>Manero received his\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/degree\/mechanical-engineering-phd\/\">doctoral degree<\/a>\u00a0in mechanical engineering and his\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/degree\/aerospace-engineering-msae\/\">master\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/degree\/aerospace-engineering-bsae\/\">bachelor\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0degrees in aerospace engineering from 性视界传媒. He also holds courtesy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/research\/\">research<\/a> appointments in 性视界传媒\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mae.ucf.edu\/\">mechanical and aerospace engineering department<\/a>\u00a0and Mayo Clinic\u2019s neurology department and is a member of 性视界传媒\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/research\/prosthetic-interfaces-biomedical-engineering\/\">Biionix<\/a>\u00a0faculty cluster initiative.<\/p>\n<p>Manero attended the event with Limbitless Solutions co-founder <strong>John Sparkman<\/strong> <strong>\u201913 \u201915MS<\/strong>, vice president and head of research and development of technology.<\/p>\n<p>Sparkman received his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/degree\/mechanical-engineering-bsme\/\">bachelor\u2019s<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/degree\/mechanical-engineering-msme\/\">master\u2019s<\/a> degrees in mechanical engineering from 性视界传媒. In his role at Limbitless Solutions, Sparkman leads the electrical and mechanical designs for the prostheses pre-production, in addition to research and development.<\/p>\n<p>To learn more about
