{"id":123117,"date":"2021-09-21T11:48:41","date_gmt":"2021-09-21T15:48:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=123117"},"modified":"2022-06-14T14:11:29","modified_gmt":"2022-06-14T18:11:29","slug":"ucf-emergency-management-receives-recognition-from-national-weather-service-melbourne","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/ucf-emergency-management-receives-recognition-from-national-weather-service-melbourne\/","title":{"rendered":"性视界传媒 Emergency Management Receives Recognition from National Weather Service Melbourne"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 性视界传媒 Department of Emergency Management was named the 2021 WeatherReady Nation Ambassador of Excellence for East Central 性视界传媒 in September.<\/p>\n<p>Each year, the National Weather Service (NWS) WeatherReady Nation (WRN) requests each branch across the country to nominate a partner who has \u201cshown exemplary efforts toward helping build a WeatherReady Nation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This year, NWS Melbourne chose to recognize 性视界传媒\u2019s Emergency Management team for their efforts in promoting hazardous weather safety on campus, holding several weather-related exercises and participating and hosting several SKYWARN training classes annually.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c性视界传媒 Emergency Management is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work so closely with the NWS Melbourne,\u201d says 性视界传媒 Emergency Management Director Joe Thalheimer. \u201cThe 性视界传媒 Community and all of Central 性视界传媒 are better prepared, safer and more resilient as a result of the collaboration between our emergency mangers and their meteorologists. Our team is really honored to be selected as this year\u2019s Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador of Excellence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The recognition includes being featured on the National Weather Service\u2019s website and shoutouts on NWS Melbourne\u2019s social media pages.<\/p>\n<p>The Emergency Management team has a long, successful partnership with NWS Melbourne, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/ucf-deemed-stormready-in-time-for-hurricane-season\/\">renewing its designation as a StormReady university in 2019<\/a>.
